NERHT is a UK based voluntary society founded in 1999 to promote and help heritage railway preservation in the former Soviet Union and the other ex-Communist countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
We do this by working in partnership with both proposed and existing preservation schemes, drawing on the knowledge and experience that NERHT has gained over many years from similar railway preservation schemes, both in the UK and by our contacts across Europe.
We publish a quarterly newsletter, named “Eastern Star”, which we are happy to send out to individuals and organisation on receipt of a request. The a request to receive a copy may be made at Eastern_Star
